Beware: No honest appraiser directory telephones you!

"Lender's Choice" is at it again.

They have been telephoning appraisers for many years now. They always use the same "modus operandi" of promising you 2-10 jobs a month from banks and lenders. All you need to do, is "hand over" right there and then your credit card number. It is a slick telephone scam folks. They even have used other names over the years. Just kiss your money (usually $349, or around $350) goodbye.

HERE ARE A FEW APPRAISERS WHO RECEIVED TELEPHONE CALLS FROM LENDER'S CHOICE LATELY:

LENDERS CHOICE CAUGHT ME ON MY SLOW MONTH, AND I JUMPED ON THAT OPPORTUNITY RIGHT AWAY. PAID AN ANNUAL OF 350, AND WAS PROMISED AT LEAST 10 DEALS A MONTH. THIS WAS 3 MONTHS AGO, AND I'M STILL WAITING.

Thanks for posting this, because I was just contacted about 45 minutes ago by Lender's Choice. The lady I talked to made everything sound good and then said the fee $349 annually. She got really testy when I said that I wanted to check out the website "lenderschoiceonline.com" first before I gave her my credit card number. Called me "really skeptical". I am glad that I listened to my gut instinct and looked this up first before I was suppose to call her back. Thanks guys.:)

They continue to call me also even though they have called before. Here is what I do now. After their spiel they usually ask "can you use more work?". I say NO I'm swamped with assignments from dream clients. I could not possibly do even one more appraisal. That response sends them into a tailspin. Morons.

Was contacted by Lender's Choice asking me to subscribe to their service. $349.00 per year. Said I should receive 2 to 10 assignments per month. Anyone familiar with this service and how do you rate these services.

Stay away! I got that call over 1 year ago. "We need appraisers in you area, blah, blah, blah..".

Needless to say, 1 year later, lost $349.00 and never even received one phone call let alone an actual order.

I tried emailing their customer service and the address is no good. After numberous phone call attempts, I sent a threatening fax to expose them. They finally removed me from their list, but I have yet been able to get any money back.

Stay away...

The consensus from appraisers that have been ripped off by Lender's Choice is that they have received zero orders. Ask them to take their fee out of your first order if they are so confident.

You are better off getting listed on some appraiser directories like the one that our host here on Appraiser Central operates.
